Last post...

This class has definitely been rewarding in many ways. First off, I got to learn how to operate a handful of programs, which I know I'll definitely be using in the future. I have already been incorporating projects and skills Ive learned in the class to my other classes. Overall, I believe my strongest projects were Canvas, the Calligram, and my Animation. While my weak projects were the MorphX and Black and white edit. My favorite overall project was probably my calligram or animation- both took awhile to do but in the end i really like them. This class not only helped my other classes, but I know I now have the skills to (finally) take over the social media for our Tampa Volleyball team, which I had been very reluctant to do.

I think part of the reason I did well in the course and was not overwhelmed was because I bought the Adobe student pack so I had all the programs on my laptop. This was a lifesaver because I was able to work on projects at whatever time I wanted and could work in intervals or finish the entire project if I had the time.

Thank you so much Santi for everything you taught us. Even though your class may have been difficult, I learned so much more than I would have if I had a different professor. I already know I'll be emailing you next year, thanking you again.

Posters research

Propaganda from Russia: What I like most about the Russian posters is the fact that they look pop-art like. I also like the use of only basic colors, although this may be because during that time period, those were the only available colors to print.
Out of the Russian propaganda, this was my favorite. This picture, I guess because of the people's faces reminds me of a circus or clowns. I also really like the flower print on the one person's shirt. Out of many of the other Russian pictures, these people looked the happiest and aren't scary.

WW2 posters: what i realized about the WW2 propaganda, is that they are all informational. Many of these posters are covered in text, and are explaining something. Personally, i do not like these posters because it is harder to gain an audiences attention, and many people do not want to stand there and read a poster. Many people will be seeing these posters on the go, and do not have time. Another trend is that many of these posters use the colors red, white, and blue. And if they do not include all 3 colors, they include at least 1.

I liked this poster because out of all of them, it is the most relatable. I think its ironic that men my age would have needed to enlist for the war many years ago.

Japanese vintage posters: i LOVE these posters. The colors and Japanese writing is so pretty. Although I'm nit sure what the posters say, many of the posters people seem happy and generally give off happy vibes.
I like this poster because it is peaceful. I also like how the writing characters are different colors, I'm guessing because they are separate ideas.

Mesh Project

Originally I took a plastic Easter egg as my object. After many tries, I was finally able to create the portion of the egg where the top and bottom connect. Overall, I am happy with how the project came out, and really like using the eyedropper and anchor.

Caligram

My final Caligram is Mrs. Potts from Beauty and the Beast. I thought just the plain white background was boring so I decided to use a gradient, but it kind of makes the words harder to read. This project took a lot of time, but it is one of my favorites.
